OPB has established a news partnership with the NW News Network, EarthFix, NW News Partnership and is also developing a partnership with a public radio station, KMHD. OPB President and CEO, Steve Bass, did a presentation on OPB’s lessons learned at the PMBA conference in May 2014. Steve’s conclusions about what makes collaborations work include:

  1. Similarity of goals, aims and editorial editorial approach
  2. Willingness to invest your own resources rather than “grant chasing”
  3. A long term view
  4. Strong leadership at partner entities (particularly important for new collaborations)
