South Carolina ETV: Women of Vision

Women Vision S.C.

In Fall 2018, a couple weeks before the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment by Congress, SCETV created and hosted “Women Vision SC.” The program was an effort to recognize trailblazing women in South Carolina and spotlight under-reported issues affecting women throughout the state and nation. SCETV invited viewers and listeners from all parts of the state to nominate the “Women of Vision.” From 75 nominees, 11 were selected, including South Carolina’s first female Chief Justice Jean Toal and former Superintendent of Education Inez Tenenbaum. Other honorees were chosen for remarkable achievements that point the way to a brighter future. These women will serve as role models for a younger generation across South Carolina. SCETV and SC Public Radio are now working together closely to produce the second season and have invited their audiences to submit nominations.
