A great example of the power that public television has to tell an important story in a way that engages the community on air and online. The promotion strategy highlighted the importance of the project. The producers used discretion in not sensationalizing the production.

The production team did a very good job integrating a web component with the documentary, which allowed viewers to engage in this discussion in a very meaningful way. The team also did a very good job finding ways to make a very policy-oriented topic feel personal and important on a tangible level beyond the politics.

Well done, breaking down the complex issues involved and making information and POVs easily understandable. It came across as a news-like investigative report, yet it provided many explanations and different points of view. The online web discussion was an excellent idea for a topic like this.
